Statement of the CEC Spokesperson Mrs.Drilona Hoxhaj.
Following article 91 of the Electoral Code, the Central Elections Commission will audit the political parties regarding the funds benefited and spent for June 30, 2019 local government elections.
In addition, the law on political parties, amended by the law no. 90/2017, assigns the Central Elections Commissions as the body responsible for monitoring and supervision of the party funding during the election campaign.
Considering the special importance of the transparency of the funds benefited and spent by political parties for June 30, 2019 local government elections, we appeal to the licensed accounting experts and financial experts to express their interest in the CEC within May 6, 2019 to meet this legal obligation.
After the expression of interest by the licensed accounting experts and financial experts, the CEC, pursuant to the Electoral Code and the law on political parties, as amended, will designate by lot a sufficient number of financial experts to monitor the election campaign as well as licensed accounting experts to audit the funds benefited and spent by political parties for 2019 elections.
The accounting experts registered with the Institution of Authorised Accounting Experts (IEKA), in addition to the general criteria needed to exercise thier profession, t should also meet the criteria specified in the CEC instructions which are available on the official website.

2- Statement signed by the candidate regarding the above selection criteria
All the licensed accounting experts who meet the criteria, are encouraged to apply to the CEC within May 6, and give their contribution to this common task, which is provided by law.
