The CEC Chairman meets with the Commissioner for the Protection Against Discrimination.
The Chairman of the Central Elections Commissions, Mr. Klement Zguri received the Commissioner for the Protection Against Discrimination Mr.Robert Gajda.
The focus of the meeting was the request of the Instution of the Commissioner for the Protection Against Discrimination to cooperate with the CEC, in promoting the campaign ” Recommendations on the fight against Discrimination and Hate Language” an initiative of the European Equality Network Bodies – EQUINET.
The CEC Chairman, Mr. Zguri assessed that it is indispensable to prevent the hate language during the election campaign .
The CEC Chairman informed Mr.Gajda regarding CEC measures in the context of the organisation of the election process of June 30, 2019 and that the CEC is getting access to information in order to provide the appropriate facilities to the people with different abilities, according to the type of disability.
The Commissioner for the Protection Against Discrimination thanked Mr. Zguri for the support offered in promotion of the principle on non-discrimination, the principle of equality and tolerance and expressed his willingness to coordinate institutional work in order to address the issues related to the people with different abilities in local government elections of June 30, 2019.
