The Chairman of the Central Election Commission Mr. Denar Biba, Deputy/ Chairman, Mr. Hysen Osmanaj and members Mr. Klement Zguri and Mr. Bledar Skënderi, had a meeting with the highest representative of Authority for Information about Documents of the Former State Security, Ms. Gentiana Sula.
The purpose of the meeting was to verify the purity of image of the candidates for lawmakers, for elections of June 18, 2017, by the Authority on opening files of Former State Security.
During the meeting, the Chairman of Authority for Information about Documents of the Former State Security, Ms. Gentiana Sula, claimed that “The integrity of the candidates should also pass the test of the purity of image, as they are verified in the implementation of the law of decriminalization as well as political parties should have a very important role at this moment to guarantee the past “clean” of their candidates for these Assembly elections. ”
Thereafter, the Chairman of the CEC, Mr. Biba appreciated the AIDFSS approach on creating transparency over the lawmakers past, as a factor closely linked to the creation of voter confidence and public opinion to future lawmakers.
Mr. Denar Biba pointed out that, currently the legal framework does not provide the possibility of further steps to seek such verification by the CEC part.
Commissioners of the Central Election Commission expressed their readiness to verify the purity of their image as a message to all those officials who are elected, appointed or exercising public functions in order  to guarantee the past “clean”.
